Law AS Level (AQA) at Ryburn Valley High School
Through debate, discussion and seminars you will develop a greater understanding of this fascinating and complex subject. Legal institutions play an important role in society and have an important relationship with other institutions. Sources of law, statutes and cases are used to apply to, and determine, the settlement of disputes. Students will develop a wider knowledge and understanding of such issues and will be expected to keep an up-to-date awareness of the impact of changing situations.
You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare for the A2 part of an advanced GCE in Law, which could lead onto higher education in areas of law, business studies, politics or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to law such as a Lawyer, Solicitor or Barrister. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification, which will help you develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many other employers across lots of industries are looking for.
