Performing and Production Arts Level 2 Diploma at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College*

Course description

This course will develop your performance skills and understanding of the performing arts industry.

Course content

You will study nine units, covering a variety of acting, musical, performing and dance skills. This will lead to a final group project at the end of the year.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 3 (grade D) or above. Performance experience is useful but not essential; however, passion and enthusiasm for the performing arts is a must!

Assessment

Through a range of performance-based projects accompanied by demonstrations and guidance from your tutor. Learners are given opportunities to perform for the public and local schools throughout the year as well as attending regular trips to the theatre. The course work is largely student-led and requires you to think creatively with boldness and aspiration.

Future opportunities

Learners who achieve a merit grade profile for the year can progress onto the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts here at SGS College.

Learners can progress onto higher level courses, which could lead to a career in theatre, film, video and TV production, events management, sales and performance coaching.
