Music Technology at Branston Community Academy

Course description

This course is suited to students who wish to learn how to manipulate, record and compose music using computers, mixing decks and microphones. You could use this course to enter university in order to study popular music or music technology, it would also provide an excellent introduction to level 4 courses in media, film or the creative industries. The majority of this course will centre upon completing pieces of coursework using music software such as cubase. You will also be using the digital desks and sound modules in the music department to edit, manipulate and master your work.

Entry requirements

GCSE music is not essential although a good standard of general education at GCSE is needed. A good knowledge of music theory and an ability to play an instrument. A real interest in computer music and sound recording.
