Course description

If you are thinking about a career in Health and Social care, caring for anyone age 18 and above, then this course is an ideal start as it gives you all the basics. It will not qualify you to work in the sector but it gives you the grounding to move on to the Level 2 course. This Level 1 course gives you a good knowledge and understanding of what it is like to work in the sector. There are both practical and theoretical lessons, where you will cover: - the role of the carer at meal times - hygiene needs of service users, and your hygiene responsibilities - communications - creative activities to use with service users - a 2 week placement in the sector (we will support you in getting the placement) - employability skills - job opportunities
