Bench Joinery and Site Carpentry Level 2 Apprenticeship at Buxton & Leek College

Course description

Our apprenticeship programme follows a national framework that has been devloped with employers. This ensures you obtain the skills and knowledge that are recognised by employers and allows you to develop transferable skills within your chosen occupational area.

The apprenticeship enables you to study at college one day a week to obtain the Level 2 Diploma and the remainder of the week would be spent in the work place developing your skills and knowledge and obtaining evidence towards your NVQ. 

You will have an Assessor who will also visit you at work to carry out observations.

Course content

The apprenticeship offers a choice of bench joinery or site carpentry.

Mandetory units for both courses are:

  • Conforming to general H&S
  • Conforming to productive working practicrs
  • Moving, handling and storing resources

Bench units

  • Mark out from setting out details
  • Manufacturing routine bench joinery products

Entry requirements

4-5 GCSEs grade C or above including English Language and Maths or equivalent.

You need to have an employer.
