Course description

Depending on your previous qualifications, you could opt to study either an Extended Diploma, Diploma or Subsidiary Diploma in Public Services. If you’re keen to start your career in the uniformed public services, this course will help you prepare.

Through theory based and realworld teaching approaches you’ll explore advanced concepts including leadership, citizenship and teamwork alongside adventurous activities, such as rock climbing and water sports.

There’ll also be chance to participate in a ‘look at life’ army course and work with Cheshire Police during their training activities.

You will gain:

  • Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Public Services
  • Nationally recognised awards in adventurous activities
  • Functional Skills or GCSE in English and Maths depending on previous qualifications

  • Leadership and teamwork in public services
  • Citizenship, diversity and public services
  • Skills for water based outdoor and adventurous activities
  • Skills for land based outdoor and adventurous activities
  • International institutions and human rights
  • Behaviour in public sector employment
  • Fitness testing and training for the public services
  • Functional Skills or GCSE in English and Maths depending on previous qualifications

Entry requirements

  • At least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including English, Maths and Science or PE, or,
  • Level 2 Diploma in Public Services or relevant Level 2 qualification

    • You will be studying in the beautiful, rural setting of Cheshire, one mile from the market town of Nantwich with good connections to Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and Chester. 

      The Reaseheath campus itself is small enough to retain its friendly, family atmosphere, but large enough for you to be able to mix with lots of groups of students. 

      Our front lawn is great to sit out on during the summer and the College lake has much wildlife to watch. 

      Over the past few years we have invested over £50 million in our campus to give you the best possible environment for learning. 

      A further £30 million investment is planned for the campus including a £6 million advanced agricultural technology and engineering facility, new halls of residence and new sporting facilities.
