Health and Social Care NVQ Diploma Level 2 at Citywide Ventures Limited

Course description

This course is aimed at individuals working/volunteering in or seeking to work as a care assistant or support worker.

Course content

To achieve this qualification, learners must achieve a minimum credit value of 46 credits, of which 24 credits must be from the Mandatory Units, 7 credits from Group A Optional Units and a minimum of 15 credits from Group B Optional Units. Here are sample units we would be covering in order to successfully complete this qualification:

  • Contribute to Health and Safety
  • Handle information in Health and Social Care Settings

Optional Units Group A (Minimum: 7 Credits)

  • The Principles of Infection Control and Prevention 3
  • Cause and Spread of Infection 2
  • Cleaning, Decontamination and Waste Management 2


Optional Units Group B (Minimum: 15 Credits)

  • Support Care Plan Activities    2
  • Support Individuals to Eat and Drink  2
  • Support Individuals to Meet Personal Care Needs 2
  • Support Individuals to Live at Home 4
  • Support Individuals with Specific Communication Needs 5
