The Diploma in Professional Cookery is ideal for anyone wanting to work as a chef in the catering and hospitality sector, or people who already work in that area and want to progress to a more senior chef's role. It also provides a good platform for progression
onto the Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery.
The Diploma will enable you to develop your cookery skills to a high standard though working in a commercial environment and visiting various food shows and festivals.
The course is split into twelve units, which cover a variety of food preparation techniques while also giving you essential knowledge about kitchen health and safety, food safety, careers and establishments within the catering and hospitality industry and healthy eating.
You will study Food and Beverage Service alongside this qualification.

The qualification can be obtained by achieving assessments through practical sessions, written assignments. You will also have the opportunity to work in the commercial environment where you'll practice and demonstrate your skills.
