Automotive Accident Repair Level 1 at Lincoln College

Course description

Taught in our industry standard vehicle workshops using the latest specialist equipment you will be involved in repairing accidental damage or restoring and modifying vehicle bodies.
This qualification can help you to progress in a wide range of roles within the automotive industry including careers as a vehicle body repairer or body painter/refinisher or perhaps into associated industries such as car, truck or motorbike mechanic/technician. A job as an apprentice automotive body repair technician or panel beater could be an option for you to move into once you have completed this course.
During this course, you will learn: how to repair and replace damaged cosmetic and structural panels, use electric and plastic welding equipment and get involved with the use of specialist body jigs and tools.


Entry requirements

You don’t need any formal qualifications to apply however the nature of both the learning and assessment required for the qualification is such that you will need literacy and numeracy skills. An ability to understand and carry out exact instructions is essential due to the nature of the activities. You will also be required to pass a trade test as-well as a literacy and numeracy test.
You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).


Assessment is a combination of practical tests and written examinations.
