Who is the programme for?Candidates 16+ who wish to undertake their Food and Beverage Service qualifications.What is the programme structure?The programme consists of a Level 2 NVQ Diplomas in Food and Beverage Service, a Technical Certificate and Functional skills. Assessments will take place mainly in the workplace, with some study days at Trafford College.The certificate requires 37 credits.The mandatory units cover health and safety, food safety, customer service and team working.The remaining credits are chosen from a range of units covering different activities appropriate to your workplace, including different styles of table service, wine service, alcoholic or hot drinks service.What awards will I achieve?Apprenticeship in Food and Beverage Service NVQ Level 2Diploma in Food and Beverage ServiceTechnical Certificate in Catering PrinciplesEmployee Rights and ResponsibilitiesPersonal Learning and Thinking SkillsEnglish and maths requirement?You will also completeLevel 1 Functional skills in MathematicsLevel 1 Functional skills in English
A successful interview and working at Level 1 in maths and English. English and maths ability will be tested at interview.
How is the programme assessed?Assessment is continuous, with candidates undertaking practical work and producing written evidence to meet the requirements of the Certificate. Candidates will produce a portfolio which will be internally and externally verified.Examining/Validating Body - City & Guilds
Will there be any extra costs involved?Candidates will need to meet the costs of providing files and plastic wallets.
What can I do next?Successful candidates can progress on to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Professional Cookery or Hospitality Supervision and Leadership. The qualification will support their progression in the Hospitality sector.
