Maths GCSE at Harrogate College
The AQA linear specification examines all the material at the end of the course.
The course will cover basic numeracy (fractions, percentages etc), geometry, algebra, graphs, data handling and probability. There will be opportunities later in the course to revise topics and practice exam papers under exam conditions.
It may be possible for some students to take the higher tier exams, but the majority of the course will focus on the Foundation tier.
There are no formal entry requirements but students are expected to have completed secondary education.
There are 2 exams, non-calculator and calculator, and the final grade is based on the combined result from both papers.
There is no coursework for GCSE Maths.
This is a Level 2 Specification and students would normally progress to other level 2 qualifications or onto level 3 Courses such as A Levels or Access courses.
Please enquire with your tutor should you be interested in A level Maths.
