Dance A Level at St Peter's Catholic Comprehensive School

Course description

A Level Dance provides students with the opportunity to acquire experience of performance, choreography and engage in critical thinking about the subject. It will develop students’ knowledge of the dancer in action, looking at anatomy and physiology, technique and performance skills. All this will be underpinned by the study of professional dance work. The course includes theatre visits, dance workshops and numerous opportunities to take part in public performances, including the possibility to perform with Pulse – the School’s dance group. All this means that the dancer that leaves St Peter’s is equipped to pursue further training in dance in a university or vocational context.

Entry requirements

Ideally students should have achieved an A* to C in GCSE Dance and / or provide evidence of extensive dance training in the private sector.
