A Level Physics is the study into everything and how it works. It is an opportunity to ask exciting questions about the world around you and study theories that are yet to be proven.
What skills will I gain from studying Physics A Level?
- An appreciation of how Science works in practice
- The relevance of Science beyond the laboratory
- Analytical, evaluative and synoptic skills,
- Practical skills, including the ability to plan and manipulate information and data
OCR Physics A-Level
Unit 1- Mechanics
Unit 2- Electrons, waves and photons
Unit 4- Newtonian world
Unit 5- Fields, particles and frontiers of physics
Unit3 & 6- Practical skills
A minimum grade B must be obtained at GCSE Science/Additional Science or GCSE Physics.
80% is assessed by written examination papers. 20% is the internal assessment of practical skills.
Physics is an extremely desirable subject for employers and students with a Physics qualification could enter careers in research in the physical sciences, engineering, medicine, sports science, law, finance, accounting, electronics engineering, robotics to name a few. There are many other possibilities.
