MUSIC TECHNOLOGY(BTEC National Award Level 3) at The Weald School

Course description

Based in our brand new Sixth Form Mac suite and recording studio, this is a highly practical and applied course. Over the twoyears of the course you will learn to use technology as a creative tool that enables you to produce music in many musical styles.A successful Music Technology student will develop the skills and knowledge to enable them to work in one of the many roles of the modern music industry. The first year enables students to develop a broad base of skills, the second year allows students to develop their creative ideas. Topics that the course covers include; writing music for film, live music and performance, the recording studio, music production and computer music.

Entry requirements

It is recommended that students have some musical skills.

GCSE Music or Level 2 Music Technology will be of benefit but is not essential.
