Course description

You will be working towards a Level 2 Diploma in Business
Administration which includes units such as communication in
a business environment, principles of providing administrative
services that incorporates the knowledge of organising and
administration of meetings, travel and accommodation as well
as how to manage a diary system and use office equipment. You
will also take part in practical units such as developing working
relationships with colleagues which will give them communication
experience that can be applied to the working office. You will also
learn how to produce business documents such as agendas, letters,
and emails and incorporate tables, complete mail merge, collate and
report data and produce minutes. There is a high practical element
to this course that will mean you will gain experience of using a
variety of office equipment. Study includes Level 2 Administration
plus IT, Communications, Employability Skills and Customer Service.
Course work, which is continually assessed, is designed to give you
the maximum amount of practical work that you might expect in real
work. Full Time Study Programmes are built around a collection of
key elements which all students benefit from, these include:
 
• Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
• English & mathematics qualifications for all students who have not
yet achieved A*- C grade in either subject
• Work Experience or External Work Placement which is planned
with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals
and ambitions
• Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
• A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader
skills, such as teamwork or communication

Entry requirements

4 GCSE @ D including English or Maths (or full Level 1 @ M or D including L1 F/S)

Assessment

Predominantly coursework with some external tests in English
and maths.

Future opportunities

Employment opportunities including administrator, hotel receptionist,
clerical assistant, data processor, Level 3 Business Apprenticeship
or employment.
