There are three 60-minute written exams scheduled for the end of the course in June – Unit 1 My World, Unit 2 My Family & Home and Unit 3 Making my World a Better Place. Each exam contributes 25% to the final grade. The remaining 25% is a formal assessment of investigative skills. The exam board sets the hypothesis for investigation and it is marked internally. Mock examinations and exam practice will be completed at regular intervals throughout the course to enable progress to be tracked accordingly.
In most cases students aged 18 and under who wish to enrol on a full time further education course will have their fees waived. Students who are aged 19 and over and who wish to enrol on a full time course should contact our Student Services Team on 01422-399367 for more information.
You may require the GCSE Science qualification to enter employment in Teaching, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Sport and Leisure, Management or Health and Social Care. The GCSE is also a requirement of many Level 3 science related courses, as well as many University Degrees.
