Bricklaying Level 2 Diploma at Southport College

Course description

This course is designed to develop your skills and knowledge in brickwork to an intermediate level. You will work on the tecnhiques and skills you already have to become even more adept at them and ready for employment.

Course content

The course includes a variety of practical applications to include:
- Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers
- Building cavity walling and forming masonry structures
- Interpreting working drawings
- Building methods and construction technology

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade D or Level 1 Diploma in related subject. Satisfactory reference & interview.


The course work is continually assessed in both practical and theoretical areas. There is also online testing at the end of each unit.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course students can progress on to a level 3 qualification in Brickwork or into employment in a related area.
