Course description

This course is for those working as new entrants to the Construction Industry who require formal Carpentry qualifications

You will study:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry
  • NVQ Level 2 in Site Carpentry
  • Functional Skills - English and Maths (if required)

Course content

  • Knowledge of Safe Working Practices
  • Knowledge of Information Quantities & Communication
  • Knowledge Construction Technology 2
  • Know how to carry out first fixing operations
  • Know how to carry out second fixing
  • Know how to erect structural carcassing
  • Know how to carry out maintenance
  • Know how to set up circular saw
  • Practical Assignment

Entry requirements

Minimum age requirement is 16.

  • GCSE maths and Englis at grade D or above or
  • Initial assessment in Maths and English
  • Successful completion of aptitude test
  • Interview/Skill Scan
  • Must be working in the Construction Industry carrying out Site Carpentry duties
