Electrical Installation Level 1 Diploma at Knowsley Community College

Course description

This course allows you to develop the knowledge and craft skills needed for a career in the Electrical Industry. It covers basic wiring, testing and fabrication skills, similar to those needed for domestic properties, as well as technical knowledge, personal development and industry awareness. This course is for those who wish to train in the electrical installation industry, but who are not yet qualified enough or who lack confidence to start at Level 2. You will learn in state of the art facilities and be taught by industry experienced and supportive staff. NOTE. This course does not qualify you to be an electrician. However, it is your first step towards becoming a fully qualified electrician.

Entry requirements

A positive attitude to learning is required and GCSEs in the A* - E range preferably including English, Mathematics and Science at grade D/E. If you do not have a grade C or above in Maths and/or English you will be required to attend classes as part of this programme. You will also be required to sit an initial assessment and to demonstrate an interest in your chosen course at interview. You should also have good colour vision. To confirm your suitability for this course, you will also need to successfully complete your programme induction.

Future opportunities

If you have successfully passed all the requirements of this programme of study, including Maths and English you will be able to progress onto L2 Diploma in Electrical Installation
