Geography A level at Sir Bernard Lovell School

Course description

How can we provide for an increasing global population? How do rivers affect our everyday lives? Why is the managing our coastline important? Can we every achieve health and wealth for people everywhere? Geography is a dynamic subject which provides you with the opportunity to engage with (and question) the world around you. During the A Level course you will study the relationship between human populations and their physical environment on a local, national and international level. You will consider your own role in relation to the issues that we study and investigate the roles, values and attitudes of others including decision makers.

Future opportunities

Geography can be studied at degree level or it the transferable skills you gain provide a good basis for other careers e.g. information technology, administration and management, the financial sector, marketing and research. It gives you knowledge of your world and helps you to consider the different interactions that take place all around you.
