Music Technology A level at Sir Bernard Lovell School

Course description

The course recognises technology in music as a way of music making in its own right that requires a high-level skills acquisition and application as well as a high level of knowledge and understanding. Students will experience working in a studio and learn how to use music production software such as Logic in order to create a multi track recording (recording drums, guitar, bass, vocals etc.) and a sequence of a pre-existing song. Students will take an in-depth look at popular music since 1910, covering every genre whilst focusing on the music itself, the social conditions at the time and the technology used.

Future opportunities

Music study at University, Career in Performing Arts. Music is a highly regarded subject at AS/A2 level and is acceptable to all Higher Education Institutions. Students often progress to study music at a degree level or offer music in combination with other subjects for a wide variety of degree courses.
