OCR national Level 2 Short Course in ICT at Samuel Lister Academy

Course description

Thecourse is suitable for those studying in preparation for employment in theInformation and Communication Technology sector particularly in job roles wherethey will be expected to use ICT skills, liaise with users and carry out ICTsupport roles.

Course content

Students will study one compulsory unit (Unit 1) and oneoptional Unit (Unit 21)

Unit 1 - ICT forBusiness - Student will learn about Health and Safety when working withtechnology, Effective searching of the Internet, Email Use, Using PowerPointeffectively, creating a range of business documents that are fit for audienceand purpose, Designing, creating and using Spreadsheets and Databases.

Unit 21 -Students will learn how to plan, create and evaluate web graphics for a givenpurpose. Students will learn skills tobe able to create web graphics so there are fit for audience and purpose.

Entry requirements

Thereare no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Although studentswould benefit if they have completed ICT at Key Stage 3

Financial information

All units are centre-assessedand externally moderated by OCR. There are no timetabled exams for thisqualification;

The full award and units fromthis qualification are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction.
