Learning for Independence:Diploma in Personal and Social Skills at Suffolk New College

Course description

This programme of study is designed to support the development of your independence, confidence and social skills to prepare you for the progression onto a level 1 programme or supported work placements. This programme of study is highly supported with a dedicated team and support network.

Course content

This study programme is designed for those looking to develop their personal and social skills, whilst being introduced slowly to the world of work. The curriculum is set up to equip students with the skills, confidence and independence required for successful progression by providing a highly supportive learning environment. The course focuses on a range of units which include self-advocacy, self-awareness, making choices and managing money. Alongside this you will complete qualifications in Maths and English at a level that is appropriate.

Entry is based on an initial assessment and informal interview.

Tuition Costs

No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2017. Additional Costs There is a chance to go on some trips for which there would be a cost
