Performing Arts - BTEC Subsidiary Diploma at RR6 Wimbledon

Course description

Why study Performing Arts? This course will give you insight into the varied employment opportunities in the performing arts industry. The course can be adapted to your interests, abilities and aspirations. There are compulsory units plus your choice of specialist units such as theatre direction, contemporary dance, arts in the community or script writing. For the Subsidiary Diploma you must study will study one core unit and five options. How will I be assessed? All completed units are internally assessed at RR6 and graded Pass Merit or Distinction. A variety of methods is used including case studies, projects and performances.

Entry requirements

GCSE in Drama/Dance at C or Merit profile at BTEC Level 2. You should also have practical experience of live performance. The Subsidiary Diploma is equivalent to one A level.

Future opportunities

There is a wide variety of careers that can be explored including acting, stage management or directing. Both the Subsidiary and Extended Diploma are ideal pathways to further study at higher education.
