BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Health & Social Care at Kingston College
The Subsidiary Diploma is the first year of the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and is a practical, work-related course. Your assignments are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. We will arrange for you to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, formally known as the CRB check, and this will be explained to you upon enrolment. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career. This qualification is equivalent to one A Level, which means that when you have finished the course you may choose to go into full-time employment.
Students study a number of units including Developing Effective Communication, Equality, Diversity and Rights, Health, Safety and Security, Development through the Life Stages, Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology.

Four GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 with a C/4 in English Language or Mathematics or have completed and passed a BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care at Merit plus grade A*-C/9-4 in either GCSE English Language or Mathematics.
Selection is by interview.
A satisfactory reference and a DBS police check is required.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Alternatively, you may consider employment in hospitals, residential homes and health centres.
