City & Guilds Certificate in Basic Construction Skills - Level 1 at South Thames College

Course description

A chance to pick up the skills and knowledge to carry out a range of basic construction tasks such as painting and decorating, joinery and plastering. This course will give you the necessary skills to work on a construction site and be useful from day one. If you complete the course successfully, you'll leave the course with a CSCS card meaning you can work on a building site. Your course is shaped each year by the industry and local job opportunities to increase the chances of you finding work.

Entry requirements

Three GCSEs grade A*-G including English or maths; OR other related qualifications and experience.


A range of practical assessments in each area of work.

Future opportunities

Move on to one of our Level 2 courses or look for work on a site.
