Health & Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF) CACHE Level 2 Diploma at South Tyneside College

Course description

This qualification takes the generic Health and Social Care pathway and develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care needs, daily living needs and health care procedures.

This course is suitable for all those who wish to work or who are working in a supervised role with adults in health and social care. 

Course content

A main qualification:

  • CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Preparation for the world of work leading to work placement and enterprise
  • Enrichment activities such as visits, sports activities and enterprise
  • Continuing of English and Maths to at least GCSE level for those who need to do so

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs at grade D including English Language, or a full level 1 qualification in a related subject. An interview with Health and Care staff and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Assessment

The course is assessed by your lecturer or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or presentations.
