Our Construction courses develop the craft skills and knowledge you will need to start a career in the construction industry. You will

work towards a qualification that’s recognised and respected both by the construction industry and higher education institutions.

You will train in state of the art premises at the college with courses delivered by experienced

and qualified tradesman. The Construction department can simulate real tasks so you can develop your skills in projects such as building a house, plastering rooms, hanging doors and tiling a bathroom without leaving the Academy site. In addition, our students may work towards additional qualifications such as the CSCS card.

Entry requirements

No formal entry requirements but places are offered subject to successful assessment and interview.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the Level 2 course and the achievement of GCSE English, Maths and a Science may allow learners to progress to Level 3, which is primarily a site supervisors

qualification. Success at Level 2 including Functional Skills can lead to acceptance as an apprentice or into employment.
