Construction - BTEC Level 1 Multiskill at Cordeaux Academy
"Over 2 million people work in the UK’s construction industry"
(Dept For Business Innovation & Skills)
"In construction only 123,000 people were trained in construction last year yet there were 275,000 new jobs advertised."
"It is usually the construction industry that leads the way out of a recession."
Our Construction courses develop the craft skills and knowledge you will need to start a career in the construction industry. You will
work towards a qualification that’s recognised and respected both by the construction industry and higher education institutions.
You will train in state of the art premises at the college with courses delivered by experienced
and qualified tradesman. The Construction department can simulate real tasks so you can develop your skills in projects such as building a house, plastering rooms, hanging doors and tiling a bathroom without leaving the Academy site. In addition, our students may work towards additional qualifications such as the CSCS card.
No formal entry requirements but places are offered subject to successful assessment and interview.
Successful completion of the Level 2 course and the achievement of GCSE English, Maths and a Science may allow learners to progress to Level 3, which is primarily a site supervisors
qualification. Success at Level 2 including Functional Skills can lead to acceptance as an apprentice or into employment.
