Music at Rushcliffe School
The music course builds on knowledge acquired from studying GCSE Music.
Performing - Students develop their performing skills, culminating in a five to six minute recorded recital at AS and a twelve to fifteen minute recital at A2.
Composing - All candidates are required to produce a three minute composition in response to a choice of four briefs at AS and at A2 either two compositions or one composition and one technical study (emulating a chosen style of composition) or two technical studies .
Listening and Analysing - Developing of Musical Understanding revolves around studying four instrumental set works and five to six vocal set works at AS and seven different instrumental set works with five applied music set works at A2.
5 GCSEs grade C or above including English and Maths
