Course description

Course Outline / assessment - Performing Arts is a vocational course which is predominantly practical and will involve contribution to extended rehearsals. This is a course that would suit a student who is interested in a career in the performing arts industry or would like to develop enterprise skills that contribute to improve organisation, risk taking, communication and creativity. Performing Arts BTEC is 100 % internally assessed course that is focused on the student’s individual areas of interest.

Core units include

  • Unit 1 - Performance workshop worth 10 credits and will involve being internally assessed
  • Unit 7 - Performing to an audience is worth 10 credits and this will involve a performance in a performing arts discipline of your choice and will be internally assessed in front of a live audience

    Based on the students interests a program will be created so they will explore aspects of all performing arts discipline. The units below are units the students will sample and then select each are worth 10 credits.

  • Entry requirements

    Minimum of 5 GCSE passes atA*-C from at least 4 different subjects. Grade C in English speaking and listening, Drama, Dance or Music
