Students will study two units and a ‘practical skills in Chemistry’ internal assessment.
Unit 1 - F321: Atoms, Bonds and Groups

Unit 2 - F322: Chains, Energy and Resources
- Basic Concepts and Hydrocarbons

1 hour 45 min written exam
worth 50% of AS Level
worth 25% of A Level
Unit 3 - F323: Practical Skills in Chemistry 1
Internal assessment
worth 20% of AS Level
worth 10% of A Level

A Level
The A Level consists of a further 3 units which are added to the AS Level to make the full A
Level in Chemistry
Unit 4 - F324: Rings, Polymers and Analysis
- Rings, Acids and Amines

Unit 5 - F325: Equilibria, Energetics and Elements

Entry requirements

College entry requirements: 6 GCSE s at grades A*-C in six
different subjects including English and Maths
+ GCSE Grade B in Chemistry and at least Grade C in Biology
and Physics or BB in Core and Additional Science
