Why should I study Applied Art (Double Award) Specialist Pathway of Fashion Textiles and Digital Projects?
You should study this course if you have already opted to take the Applied Single Award in Art and Design. This course allows you to develop your portfolio further with either fashion textiles or digital projects. You will still learn about the working methods of design and put yourself into the shoes of the professional. You will be expected to present work as if to client, and will often get the opportunity to work with outside organisations and agencies.
What skills can I gain from studying Applied Art (Double Award) Specialist Pathway of Fashion Textiles and Digital Projects?
You will acquire the skills needed to create, develop and present quality work. You will complete units which enhance your ability to present and communicate. You will be learn about the different progression routes available and investigate a wide range of professional practices in art and design.
You should have 4 GCSE’s or equivalent at A*-C, preferably with Art and Design or a good Art and Design qualification.
You could move on to study for a degree in Art and Design, Fashion or photography. Alternatively you may wish to study an Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma or Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. You could also go on to relevant employment in Architecture, Interior Design, Jewellery Design or Manufacturing, Arts & Heritage work, Theatre Studies, Media, Games Design & Animation, Photography, Arts Psychology, etc. Art also develops skills of analysis and realisation and are valued by employers in much broader fields.
