Multi-trade Construction Activities Cskills Level 1 Diploma at Bedford College

Course description

This study programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to carry out a range of introductory construction techniques to the standards agreed by leading industry bodies. The programme will widen your understanding of the industry, providing you with an excellent starting point to progress on to further study, or into industry.

Entry requirements

You will need to have a keen interest in practical construction. Some evidence of studying at GCSE level or successful completion of an entry level qualification would be an advantage. Entry will also be subject to a successful interview, where you will be asked to complete a skills assessment.

Assessment

Assessment will be continuous throughout the course, and will consist of research, assignments, and practical assessments.

Financial information

This course could be free! You will be eligible if you are aged 19-24 on the 31st August of the year you are starting your course and are actively seeking employment and in receipt of a means tested benefit (such as job seekers, housing benefit, council tax benefit). Please note you will need to be able to produce evidence of the benefit in your name when you come to enrol.

Future opportunities

This study programme will provide you with an excellent starting point to progress onto further study at the College such as Construction Level 2, or into a career within maintenance operations or a chosen construction trade.

Further information

To take part in this course you will be required to pay £20 for uniform/equipment and £20 for a course textbook to aid your studies. You will also need to pay £10 to attend educational event(s) that complement your course.
