Professional Cookery City and Guilds Level 2 at London Academy

Course description

This Full time course is delivered over a school year, combining all the elements of a vocationally relevant qualification. Taking in all aspects of a ‘real working environment’ situation. The qualification requirements are split into practical assessment and written course work. There are practical tests set up to insure the quality of achievement required. A food safety qualification at level 2 will be undertaken during this period allowing students to cook food for sale to customers. Health and Safety at work will also be covered during this first year.

The second year of this qualification entails more advanced practical cooking skills and Catering operations, costs and menu planning. A deeper understanding of legislation and regulation of the industry will be discovered and analysed. During this second year, employment either full time, part time or voluntary will be required to support the underpinning knowledge of the specialist subject. As with level 1 there are practical assessments and course work to complete across the year.
