Apprenticeship in Business Administration, Level 2 Intermediate at PM Training
The Business Administration Apprenticeship covers a broad range of administrative procedures including customer relations, communication skills, dealing with visitors and supporting teams. The course combines NVQ and Technical Certificate qualifications with Functional skills. You will spend your working week in a work placement gaining skills and experience developing knowledge and understanding. You will learn the basics of working in a junior role in an office environment, developing your working knowledge and building your confidence and skills. You will be supported by one of our assessors who will be setting you targets and goals to achieve as a part of your qualificaiton progression. In addition a range of Functional Skills are a mandatory part of the course.
The Apprenticeship in Business Administration is a high quality training programme designed to help people become as efficient and effective as possible in their careers and gain a nationally recognised certificate relating to their work. You will be working with an employer and be supported by one of our assessors to progress with your practical and theory qualifications.
Candidates must be 16 years of age or over on entry. No formal entry requirements. To enter this programme you will need to show enthusiasm, commitment and interest in the subject area. You will be supported by our team in securing an employer placement.
In this course you will learn a broad range of administrative skills and procedures. The main qualification is the NVQ2 Certificate in Business Administration, which involves building a portfolio of evidence from your work-based training. You will also study for the Certificate in the Principles of Business Administration. The NVQ2 Certificate in Business Administration involves many different areas of administration and the units you will cover will depend upon your job description.
Apprentice pay does vary, the government min of rate of pay is £3.30 but the many employers choose to pay more than this. The National Minimum Wage rate per hour depends on the age of the employee and whether they are an apprentice - they must be at least school leaving age to be eligible. From 1 October 2015: the adult rate will increase by 20 pence to £6.70 per hour the rate for 18 to 20 year olds will increase by 17 pence to £5.30 per hour the rate for 16 to 17 year olds will increase by 8 pence to £3.87 per hour the apprentice rate will increase by 57 pence to £3.30 per hour for apprentices in their first year of their apprenticeship. All other apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum Wage for their age.
