BTEC Fashion and Clothing at St John Bosco Arts College

Course description

BTEC Art and Design: Fashion & Clothing gives learners the opportunity to explore their artistic talents, while developing their practical skills and the knowledge they need to progress as artists or designers in the fields of fashion, textiles & graphics.

Students experiment with a variety of art & textile materials to develop their own visual language, as well as studying various forms of design communication such as advertising, magazines, catwalk shows and design history.

On a practical level, students carry out a project in Y12 where they design and make a bag for a company of their choice; in Y13 they research the characters and background of the school production before designing and making a costume for one of the lead characters.
