A Level English Language and Literature at Wootton Upper School and Arts College

Course description

This will be a new course for the Department to replace English Language. Students will engage creatively with a variety of spoken, written and multi-modal texts. The course integrates language and literature and students will explore how linguistic and literary methods are related. Students need the ability to read critically, analyse, evaluate and undertake independent research, which are invaluable for further study and future employment. In order to study this subject at A level, you must have a grade B or above in GCSE English Language and in GCSE English Literature or a grade B in GCSE English.
