Welding and Fabrication Level 3 (C&G 2850) at Coleg Sir Gar

The course provides practical welding and fabrication skills development as well as theoretical knowledge covering: Manual metal arc welding; Tungsten arc gas shielded welding; Metal arc gas shielded welding; Oxy-acetylene welding; Fabrication of steel; Oxy / Acetylene cutting; Engineering Drawing.
This course would normally be a follow-on from a minimum of an NVQ level 2 or the City and Guilds 2850 level 2 course.
Assessment is based upon completion of practical competence exercises, theoretical based assignments and externally set examinations.
This course is ideal for an employed learner on a welding and fabrication apprenticeship programme, due to a weekly single day release. It provides the requirements for completion of the Modern Apprenticeship programme and is a sound foundation for a career as a craftsman within this trade area.
Also suitable for an experienced fabricator/welder who requires certification.
