Course description

Course Overview: This course is delivered in a work-related context and allows learners to develop an understanding of the business sector. It comprises six equally weighted units: three for AS and the remaining three for A2 UNIT 8 Business Development examination Develops knowledge from AS, focusing on resources, legal aspects, finance and feasibility of enterprise. UNIT 9 Managing and Developing People coursework Human resource management function, including motivation, management theory and techniques and personal development plans. Coursework project includes reports, presentations and a PDP. UNIT 13 Organising an Event internally assessed Planning and organising an event such as a conference, meeting or student outing.

Post-18 Progression: Business Administration and Marketing degrees, apprenticeships for large businesses, starting your own business This course goes well with any subject but particularly ICT, Law and Product Design You could take this course with other advanced level courses or equivalent to prepare for higher education, BTEC Higher Nationals or NVQ Levels 3 and 4 in areas of business such as Management, Economics, Marketing or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to business management, marketing, public relations, and human resources. You may also like to do a trainee management scheme to get more business experience within a company. You could go straight into a job related to business as many companies like you to have a basic knowledge and understanding of how a business works.
