Course description

This Apprenticeship will support the development, skills and knowledge required to build, repair and maintain computer systems, in addition to gaining professional qualifications which are valued by employers. It covers a range of topics includingIT hardware and equipment, installing and upgrading software, system maintenance, health and safety in ICT, developing own affectuveness and researching new technologies. You may also cover some application software elements for exmaple; Spreadsheets, Word Processing or Presentation Software.

Mandatory Units:

  • Health and Safety in ICT
  • Develop own affectiveness and professionalism

  • Working with ICT hardware and equipment
  • Software installation and upgrade

Entry requirements

GCSE Math and English grade A - D or equivalent.  GCSE ICT preferred but not essential. You will need to have a genuine interest in working with computers.
