Personal and Social Development Level 1 Award and Certificate at Aigburth Training Opportunities

Course description

These qualifications are designed to support you to develop and recognise personal and social life skills. Development of these skills may support you to re-engage with learning, move to independent living and break down barriers for entering the workplace. These qualifications are also suitable if you have special educational needs, or where English is an additional language.

Course content

These qualifications will develop personal knowledge and the skills which will help in day to day life.

Units cover life skills including managing own money, dealing with challenges and personal and social relationships.

Entry requirements

You should be at least 14 years old.


They will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning.

Future opportunities

The Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People, the Level 1 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Caring for Children, or the Level 1 Award and Certificate in Developing Employability Skills.

Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?

These qualifications do not qualify you to work but do support you in preparing for your 'next steps' either in training or moving towards work.
