Course description

Units 1 & 2To build a greater understanding of the structure and function of the human body in terms of its application in a variety of physical activities.To develop an understanding of how they can most effectively acquire and develop their movement skills through the psychological study of physical activities.To gain an awareness and appreciation of the environment through the study of Outdoor Education and Recreation and major issues such as : 'excellence in sport', 'deviance in sport.'Unit 3To assess the candidate's application of acquired and developed skills — their ability to perform specific movements consistently in a conditioned environment.To be assessed in 2 chosen activities, from 2 separate areas including: Invasion games Gymnastic Net / Wall games Combat Striking & FieldingDance AthleticA coursework element is also required, which will seek to link the practical element to the theoretical

Future opportunities
