Economics A Level at JOSEPH LECKIE ACADEMY

Course description

Economics is about choice & the impact of our choice(s) on each other.  It is related to every aspect of our lives, from the decisions we made as individuals or families to the structures created by governments & firms.  An "economic" way of thinking can help us make better, more informed choices.
 
Students gain a better understanding of influences the government have on businesses & employees.  Economics looks at both macro & micro economics to give students a clear picture of why different economic decisions are being made, right now across the world.

Course content

Students get the opportunity to link work to real life examples.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 A* -C grades / grade 5 (new grading structure) at GCSE or equivalent with English & Maths.  Grade B or equivalent in your chosen study subject is preferred.

Assessment

3 x externally assessed unikts at end of year 13 (course is linear).

Paper 2 - National & International Economy
Paper 3 - Economic Principles & Issues
