History at The Sutton Academy

Course description

You will study both British and non-British History for both AS and A2. At AS level you will learn about the Reformation in Europe, 1500-1564 and about Henry VIII’s break from the Roman Catholic Church, 1529-1547. At A2 level you will learn about Spain, 1492-1556 and about rebellions in the Tudor period. By the end of the course, not only will you have an understanding about how modern Europe developed, but you will have developed your analytical and discursive skills too. A range of topics are covered providing you with a good general knowledge of this important age in European History

Entry requirements

There is no requirement to have studied History at GCSE, though this would be beneficial. 5 GCSE’s, A*- C including English are necessary.
