Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 at Shire Oak Academy

Course description

This course offers students the opportunity to learn about the performing arts through practical activities, backed up by written and recorded diaries. They study dance, singing, voice (spoken), musical theatre, rehearsal techniques and performance in front of live audiences.

Entry requirements

A genuine interest in the vocational area is essential together with 5 subjects at GCSE grades A* - C. Also a willingness to perform in front of paying audiences.

Future opportunities

Students can progress to university courses in Performing Arts. The qualification is accepted by UCAS for any other progression to higher education. Employment opportunities in any area of the performing arts industry such as performer, technician, promoter, arts administrator, choreographer, teacher , computer games composer, stage manager, TV, video editor, screenwriter and many more!
