Floristry City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

This City & Guilds programme is designed to offer the opportunity of progressing into the industry. The Level 2 Diploma in Floristry is made up of ten units. It is expected that you would attend a work placement within the industry as part of the course. This can also be fulfilled at our College Flower shop Budding Florists

Course content

You will study a range of units including: Aspects of Art and Design in Floristry; Hand tied and presentation designs; Wedding designs; Funeral and sympathy designs; Introduction to planted designs; Floral decorating; Flower and plant care; Promotion and display; Working within the industry.

Entry requirements

Entry to the programme is subject to interview with a programme tutor. Candidates should show an interest in the subject and demonstrate the desire to work in the industry.

Assessment

To gain the Level 2 Diploma in Floristry you must satisfactorily complete all ten units and one multiple choice online question paper. You will prepare a portfolio to demonstrate your learning and understanding of both theory and practical skills within Floristry.

We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Future opportunities

Candidates will be given the opportunity to progress onto the NPTC Level 3 Diploma in Floristry or enter into employment.

Further information

One year, full-time (2.5 days per week) with 40 hours working within the industry spread over the year.
