English Language/Literature at Lincoln Christ's Hospital School

Course description

At AS Level this specification enables students to develop integrated literary and linguistic analysis during their study of three set texts from various genres. Students will develop their skills to be able to write fluently, coherently and creatively.

At A2, the specification includes coursework as a means of developing integrated literary and linguistic analysis. Poetry texts are included at A2 Level together with a choice of other genres. Students will have the opportunity to write creatively by recasting an extract from non-fiction writing and will demonstrate the use of appropriate terminology when analysing set texts.

Entry requirements

Five GCSE grades A* - C including Mathematics with Bs in English Language and English Literature
