English Language A Level at Carr Hill High School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

You will learn to analyse a range of poetry and prose. You will have the opportunity to study three texts at AS Level and three at A2.
You will learn to listen critically and attentively to spoken English; express yourself in speech and writing with increasing competence and sophistication and demonstrate expertise in writing for a variety of specific purposes and audiences.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade C or above in English and English Literature are normally required. You will need to be prepared to study prose, poetry and drama texts and to make comparisons between texts, both modern and from previous centuries. This course allows you to be creative and produce your own pieces of writing.
