GCSE English Literature at Chase Terrace Technology College

Course description

All students will study a wide range of texts, from Shakespeare to a range of non-literary material, achieving a greater understanding of how writers use language. They will develop as writers, learning more about how to match their own language choices to the demands of audience, context, and purpose.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in English Literature or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to English literature such as a Teacher, Poet, Writer or Journalist. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
