Government & Politics at King James's School
A lively course for those who wish to study the bigger questions in society: Who runs the country? How democratic is Britain? Are all mainstream political parties the same? What do we really mean by Liberalism, Conservatism and Socialism?
This course demands analytical thought and independence of mind. It is dynamic, as world events change day by day, and should be chosen by those who ask questions without expecting clear answers. Politics requires an interest in current affairs, reading and satire.
5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification)
GCSE English at grade C would be an advantage.
A high level of communication skills are needed at A2 level, as is a keen grasp of wide-ranging international affiars.
